The History ***
1985
- After spending the previous two years buying, borrowing, begging and building
a collection of equipment and records,
Andy Hindhaugh created Andy`s Disco and successfully completed his first gig
for his sisters 5th birthday at the grand age of 11.
The disco was
created using a lightshow consisting of christmas fairy lights, flashing
vehicle beacons and chasing light bulbs.
The sound system used was a home hifi!
During the
following two years, Andy continued to provide discos for family and friends
childrens parties and the occasional adult function.
In the summer of
1987, Andy purchased his first professional equipment. This consisted of 8
large lightboxes,
a twin turntable powered console and speakers.
By now family and
friends had spread the word and the Andy`s Disco was performing most Fridays
and Saturdays at functions
all over Bedfordshire and parts of Cambridgeshire.
With personal
investment from Andy, the disco equipment was continually being up-dated and
enlarged. As well as having regular bookings
at many of the local schools and youth clubs the disco was becoming just as
well known for its family and adult functions like weddings,
birthdays and company functions.
The disco
continued to grow as did the customer base. By the mid nineties the disco was
travelling all over the south and east of the country.
During the busy
periods of the year a second disco was created to meet the demand.
In 1998 following a comeback for karaoke and customer requests Mad Mark`s
Karaoke was set-up, named after the disco`s other DJ of 13 years Mark
Chamberlain.
In October 2000,
Andy & Mark started A.D. Sound & Light providing disco, karaoke, stage
and PA equipment sales and hire.
Using the new company name A.D. Sound & Light, for the first time Andy`s
Disco and Mad Mark`s Karaoke could be advertised to a wider audience across the
country.
In April 2004
Andy & Mark expanded the business creating a new division called The Party
Doctors, specialising in bouncy castles and party hire.
The disco and karaoke shows are now branded as The Party Doctors but still
retain all the same elements that have ensured our customers
have continued to use our services for many years.
The Party Doctors
has two disco shows available for all occasions and ages.
Each providing a spectacular sound and lighting experience using the latest
state of the art equipment from manufacturers including JBL,
Stageline, Carlsbro, Martin and Abstract.
