Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are all of your inflatables/equipment fully insured?
A. Yes. We are insured for public liability to £1m. This covers accidents which were our fault, such as equipment failure or failing to install a castle properly. You are responsible for the supervision. We will provide you with detailed safety instructions based on current guidelines issued by the Health and Safety Executive. We can provide supervised hire using our fully trained staff who are covered by our public liability insurance if required, at an additional cost.

Q. Are your inflatables/equipment tested?
A. All of our top quality inflatables and attractions are maintained on a regular basis to make sure they are delivered to you in a high standard. Safety is our top priority with every hire, and all of our bouncy castles are anually tested and PIPA tagged. All of our bouncy castles require an electric blower to inflate them and so we also have all electronics regularly PAT tested too. To ensure the safety of everybody, our delivery team will provide you with safety instructions and give you a full demonstration on how to operate the inflatable safely.

Q. Do you need electricity?
A. Where possible we will use an on-location electricity supply. However, if the inflatable isn’t going to be within easy reach of a power point, we also stock a range of petrol generators which will provide us with enough electricity to inflate the required inflatables. Please let us know at the time of booking if a generator is required so that we can be prepared. Please note that there is a small charge for the use of a petrol generator.

Q. If it rains, what do we do?
A. Some of our bouncy castles have either built-in or separate shower covers, so if there is a shower you can carry on bouncing! If it rains harder and the jumping area becomes wet, for safety reasons you have to stop. When the rain stops, use a towel to dry the jumping area and start having fun again. We do not charge a cancellation fee in the event of bad weather. If it is very wet or windy and you no longer want the castle that you have booked, you can cancel the booking by telephoning us before 8:30am on the day of hire. We cannot allow a hire to proceed if very high winds or storms are forecast.

Q. How do we pay?
A. We accept payment of the balance in cash upon delivery of the equipment. Or you can also make payment via PayPal, Bacs or by cheque. Cheques must be paid at least 7 days in advance.

Q. Is it possible to hire overnight?
A. No. Due to insurance and safety reasons we are unable to leave an inflatable on location overnight. If you require the inflatable on two consecutive days then this would constitute two separate bookings. However, we do offer discounts in these types of situations – please see below.

Q. Are there any discounts?
A. Discounts are given on a case-by-case basis. We provide discounts to schools, non-profit organisations, charities, etc. Plus we also provide discounts for some multiple purchases. Please contact us for more details.

Q. Are there any delivery charges?
A. Delivery, setup and collection are included in the price within a 12 mile radius of Bedford. Out of this a small delivery charge will apply. Just check availability or begin to book online to see how much your delivery charge will be.

Q. When can I hire your bouncy castles?
A. Our range of bouncy castles and inflatables are available for hire every weekend of the year. We do not typically take on bookings for weekdays automatically, you should get in touch to discuss this option with us.

Q. What are your delivery times?
A. We deliver from 9:00am and start collection of our castles from 5:00pm. We try to be flexible with delivery and collection times so please ask at the time of booking if you need a specific delivery or collection time. We do give precise times if the hire is indoors, such as in village halls, or if the hire is for a school fete or fundraising event.

Q. How long does it take you to set up and take down a bouncy castle?
A. Approximately 20 minutes, depending on the size of the castle. Our moonbug disco bounce takes approx 30 minutes as we have to install the lights and music as well.

Q. Can I collect a castle from you and set it up myself?
A. No, sorry, but for insurance and safety reasons we must deliver and install the castle ourselves.

Q. Do I need to do anything before you arrive?
A. The castles are delivered on a sack trolley so we need adequate access for this. Please ensure that paths or access to your garden are free of obstacles. We will also need access to an electricity power point within 100 metres of the castle location. The area needs to be completely free of any sharp stones, objects or dog mess.

Q. Does the castle have to go onto grass or can it go on concrete/tarmac?
A. Castles situated outdoors need to be on reasonably flat ground (slight slopes are OK). Grass is best so that they can be staked down. We regret that due to health and safety regulations we are now unable to set up on hard surfaces outside due to the large amount of ballast required to weigh down each anchor point. We are able to hire castles for indoor hires on a hard surface as sandbags are sufficient to secure the inflatable.

Q. How much room do you need to set up a bouncy castle?
A. You need to add approximately 6 feet to the size of the castle to allow for the air blower at the back, safety mats at the front and room at the sides of the castle to allow for anchoring it down and movement around the side walls. Any overhanging trees and bushes need to be pruned or tied back. Minimum ground area sizes for each castle are given on the bouncy castle page of this website.

Q. Can your castles be used indoors?
A. Yes, we set up castles indoors at village halls etc. We provide sandbags instead of stakes to secure the castle. You will need to check the height of the ceiling at your venue to ensure the castle you have chosen will fit. Minimum roof height measurements for each castle are given on the bouncy castle page of this website. (Don’t forget the lights!)

Q. Can I turn off the blower when it's inflated?
A. No, the blower must be running constantly whilst the castle is in use. If you stop using the castle just switch off the blower and let the castle deflate.

Q. How much does it cost in electricity to run a bouncy castle?
A. It costs less than £1 to run a castle all day.

Q. Can we move the castle?
A. No, once the castle has been delivered and installed and our staff have left, the castle must not be moved or re-positioned under any circumstances. If there is a problem please phone us on our freephone number for advice.

Q. Why do I need to show you ID?
A. Two forms of ID are required, one showing your address (such as a recent utility bill) and another showing your name and signature (such as a driving licence or passport). This is required by our insurance company and therefore if you fail to produce valid ID on the day of hire, we will be unable to set up your castle.
